Sharon intervenes on Tim’s blog

October 22, 2023

Greetings!

My name is Sharon, and I am honored and elated to introduce my husband, Tim Woudenberg!

Reunion Tower, Dallas skyline behind us.

In my hometown of Dallas, Texas, I asked Tim, along wit lifetime vows, will you accept this ring?

Sharon surprises Tim with a wedding ring.

Whaaat!?!

How did this happen!?!  When?!?

I have taken over Tim’s blog for some explaining.

Long story short, Tim and I have (barely) known each other for 14 years via various ultra cycling events.  Long distance cycling has been my passion for years, through randonneuring, ultra racing, and crewing.

This  past June 2023, Tim and I were on RAAM crew for our mutual friend and solo recumbent racer Sandy Earl.   It may be said that a flaming meteor flew from the sky, and blindsided one or both of us.

Tim and I both felt it was crystal clear – we shared many common interests, strong compatibility, and immense potential for greater connection.

Within a couple weeks….

 KA-BAAAAAM

We are married!

❤️💕❤️

Yeah, we seemed to completely skip over the natural progressions of dating, courtship, and engagement!

We are apparently rule breakers of tradition.

We both already had well established lives.  This has completely uprooted both of our worlds.  It is all good, as we are enjoying every day, forging ahead as fully committed life partners.

  1. Amazing !

Tim, this very morning we wanted to contact you to find out what is happening with you, and here is this wonderful news that has arrived.

Sharon, what a brilliant idea you had there, Tim is a great guy (and has a very good bike) !

Congratulations ! Love, gravel roads, sex, dust in the noze, ears and teeth, naked swimming, and many other things…

Tim & Sharon, you break the rules, but the rules are always changing 😉
We can’t wait to ride with you. When and where ?

  2. Sounds like a match made for the road. The long quiet bicycle-friendly road. Now that you both have a permanent long haul bike companion I look forward to reading about your future tours.
